Gathering Support Pictured to the right are Newcastle Cemetery Action Group supporters collecting signatures in Newcastle under Lyme town centre.
Supporters have been setting up a stall in the town centre for every weekend since the action group was formed, collecting signatures for the petition and gaining support from members of the public. Public opinion strongly supports the group, approximately 99% of people contacted are willing to sign the petition, give support to the group and urge them to take the campaign all the way.
	A petition containing over 13,000 signatures was delivered, by hand, to No 10 Downing Street on Wednesday April 8th. For further information Click Here. Petitions have also been signed at a local Morrisons supermarket at Festival Park, Hanley. The group would like to convey thanks to the Manager and staff for the support and hospitality shown. Letters have been written to numerous politicians and high profile personalities asking for their support in our actions. To date there have only been a few replies but the overall response has been favorable and may result in the group achieving a higher profile.
